Culver Academies is comprised of Culver Military Academy (for boys) and Culver Girls Academy. Lake Maxinkuckee and Culver Academies watercolors and prints are a focus of Painter and Poet, a husband and wife team who create original watercolors and poetic verse. Ward Miller's poetry is available in three paperback books: one about Culver, one about kids, and another about golf. In addition, Ward's poetry has been published in a hardback anthology. His verse is woven into many of Esther Miller's paintings. Their limited-edition, signed prints and original paintings are treasured by thousands of collectors across the country and abroad. For your convenience, prints are arranged by series, with each print on its own page.

Popular Culver Academies prints include Culver Academies' Memorial Chapel; Black Horse Troop; Culver Inn - Culver Academies; Sally Port; Centennial Eagle and Huffington Library; Girls' Woodcraft Camp; Boys' Woodcraft Camp; Naval Building - Culver Academies; Council Fire; Great Doors - Memorial Chapel; The Ledbetter at Dusk; The CGA Graduation Arch; Jumping at Culver Academies; Logansport Gate, and two prints of woodcraft camp totem poles.

The Culver Area series has paintings of several local churches, Culver Cove, two of Heritage Park in downtown Culver's historic district, two old schoolhouses, Culver Post Office, Welcome Culver, Gazebo at the Beach, Pinder's Restaurant, Burr Oak Hardware and others.

Included in the "Water Series" you will find some Michigan lighthouses: Pt. Betsie; Grand Haven; White River; Little Sable; and Old Mackinac Point. Paintings in the Plymouth Area series include prints of Marshall County Courthouse; Rees Cinema, a restored movie theatre; Haunted Barn; Kindt Soccer Field; Balloons Aloft - a hot air balloon race including a Re/Max balloon; Farm Bureau Co-op, Plymouth, IN, an old grain elevator, and one of a local American Indian - Chief Menominee with Ward's eloquent poem honoring the courage of this remarkable Native American when he was forced from his campgrounds in 1835.

You will find other prints in the following series: Florals, Amish, Children's and Christmas. and other individual ones such as "Neath the Gold," a print from a watercolor of Notre Dame's Golden Dome, and the lovely and simple Swedish Mission Church near Mears, Michigan.

Many of Esther's prints are made into note cards and available in the gallery. Harvey Firari's book "Big Scare in Small Town," illustrated by Esther, is a fantasy about Culver's annual pre-Halloween scarecrow contest.
